Pool time with new friends

Dylan had a playdate with Max and Lucia on Friday.  He had so much fun with his new friends!  Lucia is about 3 months older than Dylan and Max is exactly one month older than Dylan.  It is so much fun to see him react to other kids his age.

we couldn't believe they all three sat still for this picture!

Sharing a snack with cutie pie Lucia!
Dylan is begging me to get him this new snack!

10 month milestones

Dylan turned 10 months old last Thursday, August 25th and we have already had a few milestones in the past 3 days.  Yesterday he took 4 steps all on his own with no help and today another 5!  It is so fun to watch his face as he gets mentally pumped up to get started.  He is now clapping along to patty cake.  Today, my family came over to the house for pizza and birthday cake and when Nana was leaving he said bye-bye and waved.  SO adorable!  He waves at everyone now but it was really cute to see him put the bye-bye with the wave.  He's also saying Papa regularly.  I think it's his favorite word.  Watching him accomplish these little milestones is just the best thing ever.  Yay Dylan!

New smile!

Dylan cracks me up!  He has had his picture taken so many times now that when he sees us bring the camera out and ask him to smile he now has this new scrunched up face that he makes.  He thinks it's a smile.  It's actually getting hard to get him to smile normally so you might be seeing this face a lot in future posts!  Here are a few of his best "funny face" pics.

I had to squeeze at least one somewhat normal smile in here!

It sounded like a good idea...

Since I have the day off of work for my birthday I thought Dylan and I would stop by Chic-fil-A for lunch, get a yummy vanilla ice cream and a few nuggets and head to the park for a picnic.  We loaded the car complete with Scout, Dylan, blanket, lunch and drinks and pick a spot at the top of the dam.  It was sort of a disaster.  First, they forgot my birthday ice cream (which was the only reason I went to chick-fil-a),  second it was soo hot, and third a mosquito got in my polynesian sauce.  I thought I would have a good photo opp but between the bugs, scortching heat/humidity, spilled applejuice and polynesian sauce, and Scout chasing the runners I didn't have a chance to take any until after we had finished our lunch.   We fed the ducks for a few minutes before I turned around and headed home.  Phew!  Think I'll wait until it's in the 50's before trying this again.

Bachelor weekend

I'm leaving today for Kylie's bachelorette weekend in Charleston.  I think Ben and Dylan are looking forward to their own bachelor weekend!  Keeping fingers crossed that Dylan is a good boy for Dad.  He has been a handful lately!  He now has the nickname of "Dylan the Destructor".  It's so bad that Ben and I actually discussed the idea of removing all of the furniture in the house except the sofa until he grows out of this stage (we are honestly considering this).

Mama and me

Dylan and I were out in the backyard playing last week when Dad came out to snap a few photos of our playtime.

His shirt says "Mommy's greatest catch!"

9 month stats

We visited the doctor yesterday for Dylan's 9 month check up and he is doing great!  He is still tall and lanky and weighed in at 21.3 lbs and 30 1/4 inch tall.  He's now in the 97% for height and 65% for weight.  He sure does feel heavier than that to me!  It's so hard to believe that he has grown 10 inches in 9 months!!!  I guess I can see why we did nothing but eat every 3 hours for the first 6 months!  We are so thankful for a healthy, active little baby!

Every day he is getting more comfortable standing by himself and I saw him stand up on his own for at least a minute this weekend!  He walks around the house all by himself with a little help from his "granny walker".
