Dad's new camera

Dad bought himself a new camera for Father's Day! Awesome! We are off the hook because there is nothing more in this world that he would rather have. Here are some pictures from the past week of "practice"

I am going to have a mullet soon if Dylan keeps pulling my hair out like this! It's really terrible.

New 7 month pictures

We have been doing a bunch of "nothing" lately and it has been so wonderful! I took two days off of work before Memorial day and immediately got a cold on my first day of vacation. Two days later Dylan caught his first cold so we had to stay close to home over the long weekend. Dylan had his 7 month birthday on May 25th. I've decided that this age is my favorite so far! He is so precious and it is so much fun to watch him learn new things every day. He is sitting up great as you can see in the pictures but still not quite mobile yet. He is still up on all fours and rocking but hasn't quite caught on to the whole crawling thing (thankfully!).

Cheap entertainment

Nana has a degree in early childhood development so she is the most creative person I've ever met. This old diaper box was waiting to be thrown out when she thought that it would make a great Choo Choo train. I came home from work to find Dylan being pulled around the den in this diaper box. He thought it was the best thing ever! Needless to say, we have been going for lots of train rides. Glad I haven't spent any money on toys!Dylan spends lots of time in his walker outside on the basketball court. I need to get a video of him because he runs so fast in this thing. He loves the freedom.

We had family pictures done on Sunday morning so I'll post a link to the site as soon as I have them. Can't wait!

Updates

We have lots of exciting updates! Dylan has slept through the night (7pm-7am) for 4 of the last 6 nights! He also had a top front tooth come through on Wednesday. He is starting to sit up by himself for a while before he topples over. He can sit up much longer than the video below. He's still working on crawling and I am fully expecting him to be mobile with another week or two.

It's a matter of time!

Oh boy! Dylan is up on all fours and rocking so you know what that means. I had to go stock up on all of the baby-proofing items we'll need when he gets mobile. It's just a matter of time before Ben and I are in big trouble! He is already into everything new so I can only imagine what trouble he's going to get into when he's crawling. I've titled this one "George of the Jungle". Dylan is obsessed with leaves and loves pulling on every tree we pass by.

Feed that boy!

So we just got back from Dylan's 6 month check up and he did great! He's a tall, skinny string bean and in the 90th percentile for height and 53rd for weight (he was in the 75th percentile weight during his 4 month visit). The doctor pretty much gave us the go ahead to start feeding him more solids and even some of our table foods. I have a feeling things are going to get very messy really fast!
