January

I'm so behind on posting pictures so I'll just post a bunch of random pics from January to catch up!
We spent a lot of time at Nana and Papa's house last weekend because poor Timber (my horse) had surgery and needed some TLC.  In bettween playing doctor we got to go fishing in the pond.  Note to self: never go fishing alone with Dylan.  Bring Daddy.  I gave D his own cane pole complete with wine cork floater (that's all I had!) and fake worm and I attempted to use a real pole to show Dylan how to catch a fish.  I grabbed Ben's tackle box and rigged up my cane pole with a hook and hotdog.  The pond is loaded with bass so I really did think I would catch one.  We had just a few small problems to deal with 1) Dogs 2)fishing line/hooks and 3)toddler!  Dylan and I started here at the hill and then headed over to the flat part.  Well while we were walking to our next spot Dylan tripped and fell down.  I was being so careful not to let my hook get a dog or my baby but as soon as he fell down I laid my pole on the ground to scoop him up and yep...Scout grabbed my hook/hotdog and immediately tried to swallow it all!  I seriously dont know how he didn't swallow it but we somehow escaped disaster.  I ended up chunking my pole and we'll try again when we have the professional daddy fisherman to catch a fish.  It was an exhausting excursion while 8 months preggo!!!!

Waking up to snow (well actually ice). It snowed one time at Christmas when Dylan was 2 months old but we actually got to enjoy this one a little!  He was so excited to wake up to snow on the ground!

Throwing ice with our neighbor, Charlie
Cold, snowy days means lots of baking and cooking with Mimi!

 Washing dishes is great entertainment!!!
Oh, thank you Dylan for reminding me that I needed to get my hair cut!  While visiting our friends the Bumm's Dylan ran a toy car through my hair.  We spent a good 20 minutes or so getting one handful out but this is what was left and we had to chop it.  Good thing layers are in right now!

baking with Mimi

Boys and their powertools!  Mimi brought over her Kitchenaid mixer today so she and Dylan could bake some cookies.  It was too cold outside to play so they made a big pot of soup and then moved on to the cookies.  Mimi got all the ingredients together in the bowl and told Dylan to turn it to the first notch for slow speed.  He immediately yanked it into 4th gear and flour went everywhere.  I was working from home and heard the ruckus and this is what I found. They had a ball!

Christmas 2012

What a wonderful Christmas!  Dylan got some wonderful toys from Santa and all of our family.
He got to open one present on Christmas Eve.  Thanks Aunt Sandy for the reindeer and book!
Here he goes sneaking a bite of Santa's cookies again!!

What we have been up to in December

It has been a busy December so I'm just now catching up on photos that are weeks overdue!  Here are some pictures from the past couple weeks.  We went to my friend, Katy's, house and played on the four wheeler, held a real chicken, fed the cows, rode a tractor, and played with her cat!  Dylan loved visiting with Katy and baby Liza and he can't wait to go back soon!

I had never held a chicken so this was new to me too!
Helping Katy take the feed to the cows
I was a little nervous to let my baby out there with these huge beasts but Dylan didn't blink an eye and thought it was great!

Playing with the sweetest cat ever!  He loves cats!
We built a gingerbread train one Sunday morning.  Dylan had so much candy that morning I thought he would bounce off the walls!

One rainy day he put on his rain boots and went fishing in the puddles.  Too cute!

Yes baby, you are handsome like your daddy:)
 Cheese!
 Goofball~
Busted in the act.  I thought it was too quiet to be true!
Swinging in the back yard.  This day he leaned his head back, closed his eyes, and just let us swing him quietly for almost 30 minutes.  He was so relaxed and it was so precious!

First nap in the big boy bed

Finally!!!  We have been trying for weeks to get Dylan to sleep in his big boy bed.  For nearly 2 weeks he has had a cold so I have just been pushing it off because we are both sleep deprived.  Today, it was a last minute decision for him to go in his big bed.  After about an hour and fifteen minutes of arguing, coming out of the room, sticking hands under the door, me holding the doorknob (I have to get a childproof handle today) he finally crawled into his big bed and went to sleep!!!  I'll post better pics later but here is the monitor photo of him curled up in his big bed!!  Yay Dylan!!!
