in other news....

This is some of the fun that we have been dealing with over the past 3 weeks.  I think I have a double whammy with Dylan being 2 1/2 years and the stress of a newborn in the house.  Dylan has been a handful but each day is a little better.
I was in the shower with Miles in the bouncy seat screaming and Dylan snuck off to my office desk and got a green PERMANENT sharpie.  Check out the new wall art!

On Easter morning the Easter bunny brought new Thomas the Train bathtub bubbles.  In the chaos of trying to get everyone ready for Easter day my sweet little Dylan snuck off and poured bubbles ALL over the hardwood floors in the piano/toy room.  Lovely.  Needless to say Easter morning was very stressful.  I about lost it!

baby Miles

He is here!!!!  Born March 6, 2013 at 22" and 9 pounds (phew).  Our sweet baby Miles is so precious and we just love our little cuddle bug!  Dylan has been a good big brother over the past 3 weeks and every day gets a bit better with more sibling love and less tension over all of the strange noises that Miles makes!  We are all slowly adjusting to our new family of four.  Here are a few pics of our first 3 weeks.  Note:  we have been terrible about taking "good" pictures and only have a couple from Ben's camera.  Most of these are from my iPhone.  Hopefully now that we are a bit more settled more regular pictures will follow!
Holding Miles for the first time, my favorite picture ever.  My heart melted when Dylan gave me this smile!

Woodpecker stew

Ben was at home with Dylan one day this week and was fixing him lunch.  He asked Dylan what he would like to eat for lunch and Dylan replied, "Woodpecker stew!".  Ben said, "Woodpecker stew?  Okay well who is going to cook this stew?".  Dylan replied, "Mr. Frog is going to cook it on the grill.".

Where he comes up with this stuff I'll never know.  I didn't even think he knew what stew was!  Funny little boy!

BIG MAMA coming through!!!

This kid is cracking me up!  Now that he's talking there is no holding back what's going through his head.  So, last night it was time for bed so we go through the teeth and pj's routine and jump in bed.  Dylan has an old hand-me-down bunk bed (minus the top mattress) so it is getting very difficult for me to climb in and out to read his night time books.  Every night he jumps in bed first with his library books and I climb in next and say, "Move over rover!".  Well last night as I'm climbing in his bed he beats me to it and says "Move over rover, BIG MAMA COMING THROUGH!"  He's hilarious and I just cracked up.  So now that he has gotten a good chuckle out of me he loves telling me that I'm Big Mama.

5 more weeks before baby #2, so yes, I don't mind saying that I'm a very big mama right now.

Daddy's truck

So yesterday Ben and Dylan were outside playing in the bed of Ben's big black truck.  Ben told Dylan that he would give him his truck someday when he got older.  Okay, great...and the day went on.

Well later that night we were winding down with me on one sofa and Ben/Dylan on the other.  Ben said Dylan, tell Mama what I told you I would give you one day.  Dylan replied "Daddy's truck".  I said, "Oh Dylan that is so great, you can drive Daddy's truck someday when you get older".  Dylan replied, "Honk the horn and wave bye bye to Mama and Daddy".   Ben and I both looked at eachother and couldn't believe he was actually telling us he was going to honk the horn and wave bye bye!  I pictured that moment and almost cried!  You're only two!!!  Slow down baby!!
