beach week

Catching up again but here are some pictures from the time we spent at the beach before Joanna and Pat's wedding.  I still have some to download from my phone so I'll update again whenever I get around to that.  I just can't keep up with the blog any more!  Life moves so fast and I'm always so busy with the boys that I hardly ever have a chance to sit down and catch up!  Guess a few quick updates are better than nothing. 

Figure Eight

Dylan is really into pretend play.  He has the best imagination and we are having a ball going on dinosaur hunts, catching wild stallions, and meeting all his new friends.  Today, Dylan decided it was time for him to get a cat.  He named his new cat Figure Eight!!! I think he got it from an episode of Max and Ruby but it is hilarious.  He spent most of the morning watching this "special" cat go all over the house.  He said that Figure Eight likes him the best. And right now, as he is in his bed trying to get to sleep, Figure Eight is right on his pillow!  Love it.

In other news, Miles is rolling front to back, back to front, singing and cooing like crazy, and is the biggest drool machine I've ever seen.  He is still usually up two times a night (UGGHHHH) around 1-2 and 4-5 am.  Every now and then he'll just get up around 3-4am and we are still waiting on a good night sleep.  He started solids last week after his 4 month check up.  So far he has tried cereal, applesauce, and bananas tonight.  We aren't getting much in his tummy and it is mostly down the front of him. 

He had a great check up at his 4 month visit.  He's 26 1/2" tall (93) and 15.13 pounds (70%).  I'm supplementing some formula before bed and when Ben takes one of the night time feedings.  

Miles' first laugh

Ben took this video today while I was upstairs giving Dylan a bath.  I have seen Miles smile, coo, and talk but this is the first time he has ever really laughed so hard.  He is so precious!  I love this clip and I'm so happy Ben caught this moment!

lucky pj's!

Guess who slept from 8pm until 5:20am????  Maybe I finally found his lucky PJ's!  Actually, he woke up at 11:30pm and stirred until about 1am but he never fussed just chewed his hands and sang a little bit.  I just left him in there and we both fell back asleep.  AHHHH, please keep up the good work Miles!!  Sorry for the sideways picture but if I turn it the right way it stretches him all out of proportion.

Catching up, 2 month! He had his 2 month appt today and had grown 2 1/4 inches and weighs 13.4 pounds.  Sweet boy is smiling and cooing all the time.  Love it!

sleep deprivation

We have had a rough stretch of sleep over the past two weeks and it finally caught up with me.  Last night, Miles actually went to bed at 8:30pm (usually 10-11pm) and was cruising through one of his first 5 hour stretches.  Well, midnight rolled around and I had this "mama intuition" that something wasn't right.  I switched the monitor over to Dylan and saw him repositioning over to the side of the bed.  I closed my eyes for another moment and looked again and saw him sitting up.  I decided to go tuck him back in so I got up and started to tuck him in when I realized that the bed was soaking wet.  In my rush to get Dylan to sleep I completely forgot to put his night time diaper on and he wet the bed.  Poor baby, we had to do a full PJ change, full sheet and mattress pad change, and another tuck in.
